A BUILDING FIT FOR HUMANS AND SPECIAL K9S
Impressive glass frontage for the Blind Foundation’s new regional office.
The Blind Foundation relocated their Tauranga regional office to this purpose-built space. Designed using a lightweight structure of composite insulated panels with aluminium glazed curtain walling to the front façade, this building has ample amounts of internal daylight.
A key interior feature is the contrasting colours applied to the different finishes, specifically to meet the needs of those with low vision. Striking colours help identify different areas within the building making it easier to navigate. At the back of the building, a secure area has been built for puppies in training, and working guide dogs.
