ROCKY START FOR CATALINA
TO STABILISE THE SITE, WE HAD TO DRILL HORIZONTALLY 16M INTO THE ROCKFACE.
This Queenstown landmark is one of the most challenging sites CBC Construction has faced. Silt layers in the surrounding hills required construction of a retaining wall with 30m deep concrete piles that had to be built on terrain with a slope of 45 degrees. That’s before any building construction could begin.
