CBC Construction has delivered another three outstanding design and build projects along with architects Wingate + Farqhuar, winning top spots in the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Region category at the New Zealand Architecture Awards.
CBC director Drew Beekie says the combination of CBC and their architects’ expertise and excellent track record made a winning formula.
“We are delighted with the design and construction of these buildings and how our teams worked diligently together from beginning to end,” says Drew.
All three buildings are based in Tauranga and received awards for Commercial Architecture:
Trustpower HQ, Durham Street
Te Wananga o Aotearoa, 17th Avenue
Sims Distribution Centre, Tauriko Business Park
Drew says that right from the beginning his team aligned closely with the clients and architects to ensure seamless construction.
“We only work with the best in the industry and to be recognised for excellent design and build projects by such a prestigious institute gives a great source of pride for us here at CBC,” he says.
Judges gave praise for “eloquently refining the urban fabric of Tauranga,” with all three new buildings designed by Wingate + Farquhar and constructed by CBC Construction.
The glass front façade of the Trustpower building was described as “beautifully handled” and design decisions were “deliberate and meticulous at every scale of the project.” Judges thought the SIMS building was touted as a “skillfully scaled” office, show room and warehouse, while Maori educator Te Wananga as having “small but important design features enhancing overall presentation and attributes of the building.”
CBC Construction is celebrating its 10th year in business and adds these latest accolades to their 2014 and 2015 Tauriko Business Design Awards and Property Council NZ Annual National Awards 2013.
