ENZ Developments have appointed CBC Construction to build a new office building on 2nd Avenue, Tauranga. Three existing buildings were demolished in January this year and rebuilding has started. The building will have two main tenants, EmployNZ on the first floor and Avonmore Tertiary Institute on the second. The ground floor is planned for retail spaces with undercroft car parking.

Architects Woodhams Meikle Zhan have designed the glazed façades with feature picture frames will ensure natural light throughout the building whilst adding a point of difference to the main visible elevations.

Each floor is purposely designed to suit the requirements of each tenant. EmployNZ aims to upskill and train adults and youth for employment placements. Features include multiple training/workshop rooms which allow for education, coaching and training requirements.

On the second floor, Avonmore Tertiary Institute will have boardrooms, classrooms and workshops as this education provider focuses on smaller classes with hands-on learning. Their current Tauranga campus is on Selwyn Street and this new office will become their main Tauranga location.

Both tenants will enjoy the central location in Tauranga’s CBD, positioning it well for its target audience market. This commercial office building is due for completion in January 2017. Project value is $4M.
