Distinction Awarded from Industry Experts

CBC Construction was recently awarded a Merit in the Commercial Office category by judges at the 2016 Property Council NZ Rider Levett Bucknall Property Industry Awards for construction of the Trustpower building.
The black tie gala dinner held at Vector Arena in Auckland attracted about 1,500 people from various industries and was hosted by 7 Days TV3 host, Jeremy Corbett.
Inspiring architecture was showcased from across New Zealand within these categories: Residential; Education and Arts; Tourism and Leisure; Retail, Industrial; Special Purposes; Health and Medical; Heritage and Adaptive; Natural Habitats Urban Developments; Commercial Office; and Green Building Property.
Trustpower’s three-storey head office built by CBC is the second-largest commercial building in Tauranga and accommodates up to 600 staff.
Key features of the building are:
- Size: 9,900M2 consisting of 6,900m2 office space and 340m2 atrium and 100m2 café
- Saw tooth roof to enhance light penetration
- Double glazed façade for acoustic and thermal performance
- Large atrium with interior interlinking stairs and bridges
- Basement parking for 60 cars, 50 bicycles and 20 motorcycles
- Value: $25M

This is the second time CBC Construction has received an award from the NZ Property Council. This latest award closely follows commerce award success for CBC Construction also for the Trustpower building at this year’s Waikato/Bay of Plenty Architecture Awards.
